Woman severely burned in acid attack on 21st birthday

A young woman has told of a terrifying acid attack on her 21st birthday that left her hospitalized and her cousin in a coma.
Resham Khan said she was in a car traveling through Beckton, East London, on June 21 when the horrific incident occurred.
Khan tweeted: “On my actual birthday, my cousin and I went for a drive in the morning, blasting music and chilling like cousins do, hyping it as I WAS 21.”
But out of nowhere, she said, a man approached the car as they waited at a traffic light and threw a liquid at her through the open window.

He was arrested Monday morning after cops responded to his Wisconsin home at 11:26 AM following a 911 call from a neighbor.

The Member representing Jos North/North in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan (Babs) narrowly escaped unhurt over the weekend when aggrieved youths in his constituency reportedly attacked his convoy at Sarkin Mangu Street.

It was learnt that youths, chanting "Bamasi, Bamaso, go away, we don't like you" threw stones at his convoy, which led to the damage of the  vehicles' windscreen. More photos after the cut.

Three journalists resign from CNN following Russia story retraction

Three CNN journalists have resigned after the network retracted a story linking a top President Trump adviser to a Russian investment bank. CNN, which Trump has frequently referred to as "fake news", has come under a lot of criticism since retracting the story and making apologies.

Thomas Frank (the author of the story), Eric Lichtblau (an editor in the CNN investigative unit that ran the story), and Lex Haris (who oversaw the unit) have all left CNN, the network made this known on Monday.

Child victim of the Grenfell London Fire identified as 5yr old Isaac Paulous (photo)

One of the victims who died as a result of the Grenfell Tower fire has now been formally identified as 5-year-old Isaac Paulous. His family have since released the following statement:

“Isaac our beloved son was taken from us when he was only 5-years-old. We will all miss our kind, energetic, generous little boy. He was such a good boy who was loved by his friends and family. We will miss him forever, but we know God is looking after him now and that he is safe in heaven".

Nigeria Customs Service impounds 200 vehicles in Ogun State

The Ogun State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted and impounded over 200 vehicles being used for conveying smuggled rice and vegetable oil across the border communities of the state.

The State Area Controller, Sani Madugu said the seized vehicles and food items would be forfeited to the Federal Government after due process;

A female police officer, Joy Okoshi (pictured), allegedly poured hot water on her 15-year-old 

househelp identified as Chinyere Igwe in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

It was gathered that the victim was preparing soup when Okoshi complained that she did not follow her instruction. In anger, she poured the hot pot of soup on her and later followed it with a bowl of hot water.

Security agencies in Bayelsa State have started an investigation into the identity of a man named Suoyo whom Evans the Kidnapper mentioned as one of his gang members in the state.
In one of his numerous confessional statements, Evans the kidnapper said Suoyo is one of the most active members of his gang, who had the job of buying arms and ammunition, for their operations.

Suspected herdsmen hack 64 year old father of 7 to death in Ondo

A 64 year old father of seven, Linus Ogehee, was hacked to death by suspected herdsmen at a settlement in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday June 25th.

Some men of the Nigerian Police Force have been accused of killing Benjamin Wankaa, an event MC and a 300 level Mineral Resources student of Kaduna Polytechnic.

According to reports, on Sunday, June 25th, Wankaa popularly known as MC Cedar, and four other occupants including his sister, cousin and friend were stopped by a team of policemen on their way home from a night party, which he anchored.

Robbers attack, rape students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE)

Students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education living in an off-campus residence located directly opposite the university have cried out after facing constant rape and attacks from robbers.
